We usually depart at 12.00 noon from Castlefield Basin, returning at about 4.30pm.
Our cruise takes us out of the city, past Old Trafford football stadium and onto the historic Barton Swing Aqueduct which takes us over the Manchester Ship Canal on this amazing example of Victorian civil engineering.
The cruise is offered on a “self catering” basis with you bringing your own food & drink on-board.
Castlerose is not available for “self-drive” because it’s too big! “Skipper Steve” or “Skipper Bill” does the driving leaving you to relax and enjoy time with your friends or family; along the way you can take a turn at driving the boat or chat to the skipper about local canal history.
Regarding travelling to the boat, there is a canal side car park opposite the boat which is available and free to use at weekends which you can find off of Castle Street, Manchester M3 4LZ. Or we are a ten minute walk from Deansgate Tram and Train stations.
