Tell your friends…this one is a MUST.
“Outstanding! 6 of us stayed 3 nights. The Castlerose is moored in the middle of everything…vibey yet tranquil. At 31 paces from the Wharf Pub beer garden the dining experience was flawless in the restaurant with a very short walk to our home away from home. So many dining options are at the doorstep. A 5 minute walk to the central hub of Manchester and great shopping. Steve was so accommodating and friendly. He took us on a canal cruise for a few hours on Sunday and we were so glad for the experience. The boat is less than a year old and immaculate! Tell your friends…this one is a MUST.”

A Fantastic Experience!
We have just spent 3 nights and 4 days sailing up and down the Bridgewater Canal on Castlerose. Our 2 young boys have absolutely loved the experience and we have created some really special memories. Skipper Steve was brilliant! The beautiful boat is really spacious and has everything you could possibly need. The wood burning stove made the boat so cosy. We would definitely do it again.

5 star Floatel!
The owners are so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The boat and location are everything you could hope for. A true nautical adventure for adults and children alike. A cruise is a must, especially as you can moor right next to the Trafford Centre AND Old Trafford! Make no mistake, this boat is not small. It has TWO EN SUITE double bedrooms and it is as high a standard as anything else you could hope to find in Manchester. You’ll only know you’re on a boat when you cast off!
No pizza cutter in the galley, but was assured this would be remedied after a visit to the Chandlers!

Incredible Getaway Experience!
My partner and I were looking for something a little different/special and, when we stumbled upon the Castlerose, it was exactly what we were looking for. When we arrived our lovely hosts made us feel very comfortable as they showed us around the beautifully furnished, spacious, and homely boat. It even has a working fireplace!! The location was perfect – a walkable distance to many of Manchester’s main attractions and restaurants.

Plenty of space for our family of four and we enjoyed just hanging at home relaxing.
We had a wonderful experience on Castlerose and would highly recommend Steve and Stephanie as hosts! They were communicative, warm and welcoming and this shines through in all of the details in their unique accommodation. The location was extremely convenient to facilitate moving easily around the city and sites.
There was plenty of space for our family of four and we enjoyed just hanging at home relaxing. This was also a lively area so Saturday night was a bit noisy but this did not bother us as it was balanced by the peacefulness of the place and the ease of local eating and pubs. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Great modern accommodation, perfect location and fab for groups!
Whole boat was even nicer than the pictures showed. Showers in the modern bathrooms Great. Lots of extra little things supplied that made great little touches – various charging cables in the bedside table of the main bedroom, coffee, tea and milk and lots of fruit teas, and a lovely chocolate cake and fruit when we arrived. Perfect location, even in the rain we got it was wonderful.
We weren’t very good at limiting our use of hair straighteners usage between the 5 of us and so the boat’s battery died however Steve and Steph were fantastic and came straight away to make sure we could still get ready in time for our night out!
Would have loved to have done a little cruise if we’d had more time. We loved our canal boat adventure!

Arrived after a long journey from London and a delay on M25 caused by a rogue horse! Was relieved to find this tranquil and homely boat. Kindly, Steve showed us the ropes and we immediately settled in. Have slept soundly and enjoyed our stay on the Castlerose. It has made our getaway to Manchester a truely unique and memorable experience.
Thank you Steve & Stephanie!

What a fab idea and lovely place to stay.
My best girl friends surprised me with a stay here when I was over on a trip from NZ. Cute and homely comfy and bang in the centre of great pubs and shopping. Love it!

A Beautiful Thing To Adore!
Stayed on CastleRose for a couple days and it was a wonderful experience. Manchester itself was a discovery, and the boat is located in a perfect spot, with a pub nearby, walking distance to the center and everything, We were there for the Stone Roses Gig but have seen much more than anticipated. And the icing on the cake was when Steve took us with the boat to the Old Trafford Stadium. We recommend the place with 5 plus stars.

Looking for something different or some fun for the kids? I’d highly recommend Steve and Stephanie’s houseboat in Manchester.
Staying on Steve and Stephanie’s houseboat was loads of fun. Great location, with an excellent pub and restaurants a stone throws away while everything else is within walking distance. Steve has thought of everything to make the stay in his boat easy.. The best FAQ guide I have seen and he gaves us great tips on where to go. Of course staying on a boat had it’s quirks..but that is what makes it fun. The kids absolutely loved the change from a boring old hotel and waking up to feed the waiting ducks was brilliant! The boat is extremely well appointed, comfy beds and a good kitchen.
